I make each board by hand using domestic and exotic hardwoods: maple, walnut, mahogany, purpleheart, yellowheart, hickory, poplar, and padauk. Wood is randomly selected, so no two boards are ever alike. Lumber and glue used are non-toxic, food safe. Once fully completed, the boards are extremely strong and quite durable if normal care is given to them. Sorry, I don't do shapes or engraving.

After planing, boards are trimmed to length and sanded smooth. I also brand each board with a stamp "Handmade by Tammie Bachmeier". They are then coated with a food safe mixture of mineral oil and beeswax. Applying mineral oil periodically will keep the board conditioned and looking good for years to come.
